Coverage & Reimbursement

Some people are very familiar with their insurance coverage and the procedures around submission and reimbursement, however the rest of you who are not this may help prepare you for the process relating to mental health treatment.

Clinicians can be network providers for an insurance company. In that case, you pay a copay at the time of service and the clinician submits and receives the payment. I am not an in-network provider for any insurance company at this time. As an out of network provider, my relationship is directly with you, so I am paid by you for the service at the time of the session. You may still be able to receive reimbursement for your sessions. I will provide an invoice or sales receipt with information necessary for submission to insurance. In some cases, you only need to attach that form to the insurance company form but others require you to transfer information from the invoice to the insurance companies form. I will help you with the process. The company will then reimburse you directly. Insurance plans vary greatly on rates of reimbursement both in terms of deductibles and percentage of return. If you have any questions, I would suggest contacting your plan administrator.
